Thank you all for the outpouring of supportive comments and emails after my dress fitting post. Victoria sent me a message saying something along the lines of it being a little scary to hit that publish button. She was absolutely right. I was nervous, but I am determined to be myself here on this space I have created on the internet. Ok, now go click on some fab links.

- Oh, this post and the comments on the post made me cry. There is nobody like a sister.
- Molly did a write up about my eyeliner. It really is a game changer. Thank you, Molls!
- Inspiration for vow writing! What perfect timing.
- This write-up about Alt was one of my faves. Erin stayed true to herself and practiced self care! Love it.
- Oh man, Jessica can rock tangerine. Seriously, that girl rocked it out.
- For all you people who missed Alt, go over to my friend Victoria‘s site and read her re-cap and mini alt week.
- Another amazing article from Joanna. What to say when a friend goes through a breakup.
… that I am just mad about. So, I am a crazy-bad snoop. If I didn’t consider my ability to sniff out a gift in a five mile radius or claw my way through packaging in mere seconds such a talent, I would be ashamed. So, the fact that David just handed over a birthday gift unwittingly came as a very unexpected but pleasant surprise. We have been receiving a ton of mail that is wedding related, so while standing in the kitchen David handed me a package and it was open in seconds, no letter-opener or scissors necessary. I found a gorgeous Kari Herer rabbit print in my hands and was beyond excited. I love this print so much I now want an entire collection. I have a weakness for flowers, antlers, and bunnies, so really I love every single print in her Etsy shop. Oh, her wedding portfolio is seriously lovely.
Continue Reading Post a comment (16)I have been working with Erin of note-ably unique, “an express yourself online boutique” to create some cocktail napkins for the wedding. We aren’t having a sit-down dinner, so Kristin, my amazing month and day-of coordinator, thought of creating some cute napkins to add another personal detail to our venue. Luckily, I perused Etsy and happened upon note-ably unique. I kinda just threw a bunch of scattered ideas at these sisters and asked for help! I didn’t want a stuffy monogram, but I was a little stumped. The best idea I could think of was portraits of our dogs. Lissy made me see the light on that one…
Continue Reading Post a comment (19)Last week I opened up about some of my core issues on my guest post at VMac and Cheese. The positive response was overwhelming, including gracious comments and heartfelt emails. So ya’ll, this blog is about to get real. And when I say real, I mean I am going to be honest and forthcoming with you. If you have been following along with the Buckets and Bunches, you know I had to change my wedding date because of “life.” Life this year included hitting rock bottom with depression, anxiety, self-harm, and an eating disorder that I have been struggling with almost my entire life. It was almost exactly a year ago when David made a call to my parents and they began staying with me while he traveled and together we started looking for a solution (again). I lived in terror of the world and myself. Looooong story short, I checked into an inpatient program near Philadelphia at the end of February and began a difficult journey to recovery. I stayed in Philly for six weeks, spent another four weeks in a day program in Dallas, and finally returned to Houston for an Intensive Out Patient program focusing on dialectical behavior therapy. And somewhere around the end of the summer, I began to see changes. Or rather, I began to make changes.

My roomies, Victoria and Molly, really made the conference complete. Lovely, intelligent, and silly- these girls were exactly my cup of tea. Oh, and not once during my time in Salt Lake did I receive a strange look about having a blog. Yeah! I found my people.

Oh, this video is just, eh-hem, charming. I know, I know, that pun was terribly painful. Seriously, my dad is a pun master and they just come to me. I put a great deal of brainpower into not spewing out every pun that comes to mind. If you are still reading, thank you. I stumbled across this new animated short, The Great Journey of Little Bagcharms, via The Style Caster. Created to honor the release of their new balloon charm, the video is stylish, spunky, and best of all includes mountains of googly eyes. This happy little 2 minute 40 second video gives the prefect little dose of creative fun to a very traditional brand. Happy viewing and I hope you are having a great weekend.
