lovely links: 6.29.12

At this point in the week, I am considering myself lucky for making it through the triple digit heat alive and kicking. I am headed to Austin today to hang out with the most awesome sister ever and I can’t wait. Plans include margaritas, tubing, and forcing my sis to wear matching bedazzled visors. Enjoy the links, loves. xo

PS. Forgive me for slowly responding to comments. My internet situation is funky… I am working on fixing that.  Links are after the jump… Read more…

headboard love

I adore my sister. I am totally jealous of Molly and Sally, and love reading about Joslyn’s daughters growing up as best friends and sisters. I am going to visit her this weekend (yay) and even though she is crazy busy as well, she agreed to pop over here periodically and contribute. I hope that someday we live in the same city again and can collaborate all the time. Enjoy the post, and expect more Katrina goodness soon!  She posted an awesome Christmas craft box wish list, and she is the Pinterest queen, so I am pretty excited… her post is after the jump!

Madeline Poole

With a little practice my home manicure skills have been steadily improving, but my skill set looks weak next to Madeline Poole‘s nail artistry. I mean, they really speak for themselves. Wow. Read more…

set the mood: pastels

I used to hate pastels like it was my job. With a passion so strong you might have suspected that if the Easter bunny was to show up with a basket full of pastel eggs I would have taken him out back and shot him. Too far? Well, I really wanted to convey this hatred of pastels. Slowly as pastels have gained in popularity I have seen them styled to perfection. Mixed with patterns, neon, and brights I have found a place in my heart for them. I think that the images from the Chanel 2013 cruise collection set me over the edge. The pastel styling was over the top, and I found myself falling. Recently I have visions of pastels swimming behind my eyes in this candy land dream sequence. Here is a little glimpse… Read more…

ladies who lunch

Yes, Ruby and I are ladies who lunch. Or, I lunch, and she keeps a running commentary going while looking adorable and drawing princesses on a notepad we conned from the manager. Last week we tried Taco Diner together. I die over their brisket tacos. It is amazing how Rubes can melt the heart of anyone who sees her. Large groups of business men stopped by the table and complemented her on her hair clip, her curls, her smile. It was sweet and creepy all rolled into one. After lunch we did some window shopping and indulged in gelato. It was a very fancy girls date and I loved it. xo
PS please note Ruby’s purse and “high heels”. Yes. She actually embodies everything I love. Read more…

the gimmes: glitter miu miu

People. I have another bad case of the gimmes. I want a pair of glitter Miu Miu’s like crazy. Like. Crazy. It is not even in the realm of possibility, but I found myself in yoga pants, watching Real Housewives, drooling over these pictures of Miu Miu’s on Net-a-Porter. The hot pink sandals are divine, but if I had to choose I think I would go for gold stunners, third photo down. Gah. Do you love, or do you love? Read more…

impromptu poolside toenail sugery

I had a great weekend. David flew into Dallas Thursday night, and it was so nice to have him visit. We spent Saturday relaxing, organizing, and dreaming. Sunday we brunched, I dropped David off at the airport, took a giant nap, babysat the kids and browsed Pinterest. Too short, but really nice.

But Friday night, our southern comfort food and poolside relaxing was interrupted by an impromptu poolside toenail surgery… Read more…

guest posting and happy adjustments

Today I am guest posting over at VMAC and Cheese. Victoria is an France (lucky/she-deserves-it) and I am delighted to be a part of a guest blogger series  that includes some of my favorite bloggers. I did some major sharing over there today, so over here it is still a light week. Regular posting resumes on Monday. I hate being inconsistent over here, but this adjustment back to full time nanny-hood and living with the fabulous family I work for has included some major changes. It is delightful, rewarding, exhausting and then oh-so-tempting to chat and sip wine with Yolanda all night long. After a day of kid talk, grownup time with Yolanda feels like a delicious treat. Anyways, I would be honored and delighted if you head over to the guest post and we will get back to daily check ins pronto. Don’t these bathing beauties just put a smile on your face? Read more…

high glamour

Hello luvs, I hope you had a fabulous weekend. I had to share these images from Birchbox’s Pinterest. I love these high glamour looks. I want to learn how to pull off such intense eyes and voluminous hair. I am going to start practicing my eyeliner skills. Don’t worry, I’ll let you know how it goes. I will be back tomorrow with a little more substance…just adjusting to my slightly transient life in Dallas. Do you all love these images as much as I do? Read more…
